I have never experienced Himalayan/Nepalese so I was excited to try this place. The food was nicely plated and had lots of interesting flavors. I got to try goat for the first time and it's pretty good! While Himalayan food might not be my first choice, what I ordered was very good, especially the naan. I even had enough leftovers for my next meal.
How have we lived in the greater Fredericksburg area for 30 years and never run across this gem before?!! Hands down some of the best Indian food we have ever had. (With some new regional dishes never tried before). We will be back!!
Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised. Packed with flavor and mild spice.
The atmosphere was comfortable and not loud; you could have a conversation at your table. I would go back.
This was such a surprise. Atmosphere was nice, staff was great, and the food even better. We've been to both India and Bhutan and while the food wasn't extremely authentic it was very good. The mo mo dumplings were tender and tasty, the butter chicken was a little tomato-y but yummy, and the vegetable dishes were great. Yummy garlic Naan. When in the area we will make a point to come again. Definitely recommend.
Stopped by Himalayan Heritage for a late lunch and the food and service was great. We were seated upon arrival and our waitress took our order. I got the chicken biryani which is the most authentic biryani around here. My date got the chicken tiki which was very tasty. We could not decide on whether to get garlic naan or herb naan, so we got both. Since this is my review I get to say the garlic naan is best! Will definitely return to try some other menu items..
Wow, I knew the food was going to be fantastic the moment I walked in and smelled the aromatic fresh spices in the air. This place just became one of my regular restaurants to go eat now. I highly recommend it. Durga and his team were great. A very welcoming atmosphere to amplify the high quality meals they make here. Enjoy š
Tandori Chicken was great, owner is warn and welcoming and took the time to speak with me at length. Wait staff was polite and attentive. Looking forward to going there when I have a little more time to enjoy the atmosphere. My plan is to try more from the Nepal section of the menu such as the Mo Mo dumplings. This place is a real treasure to find in an otherwise dull collection of over visited lunch spots in this area. A must try for anyone who enjoys Indian food. The attention to detail is very closely over seen by the owner and I am looking forward to trying many different selections off the menu in the months to come. My hope is that this place gets patronized enough to make it worth their while to stay open, but not enough to spoil the cozy feel and quality of the food and service that currently exits. 6 stars (if there were such a thing)
So I've been back about 7 or 8 times since I posted and every time is the same wonderful experience, the food is great, tried mo mo dumplings (pork being my favorite) and shrimp kabobs (see pic) were fantastic. My new favorite go to place. It's getting harder and harder to decide what to get because everything I've tried has been so good and I end up ordering the same things over and over again. The sizzling section of the menu is so far my favorite but I'll try to venture off into other areas and post opinions and pics subsequently
Decided to check them out based on Google reviews and I will tell you it did not disappoint. Amazing staff, excellent customer service, and amazing and tasty food. We tried a few items from their appetizers menu and a a main course. Food was bursting with flavor. We will definitely be back.
Meals here are always amazing and authentic. Be careful with the spice though. I can eat spicy, but don't go above 3 peppers here. Their spicy is really spicy. The vandal ok was incredible. Fish in coconut out of this world. We love the garlic naan. Be patient with the service, it is slow and they are short staffed. Our server disappeared and never returned! But the owner came by and took care of us, he actually recognized us from when they first opened. They have take out menus and delivery. Definitely a great place to eat at. Prices are reasonable, food is plentiful and authentic. We love it.
Absolutely delicious! We started with samosas and chicken momos (similar to dumplings). There are lots of cool sauces that come with your food. The butter chicken was my favorite! Garlic naan is a must have as well. The restaurant itself is very clean, which is appreciated. Will definitely be back when Iām in town. Thank you!!
Wonderful!!! Went with two 92 year olds, one with a walker, no problem at all. Also two great grand daughters of 1 and 4 years, and other family, all enjoyed enormously! Servers are always so friendly and thoughtful, and careful to be sure they get our spice levels right! The flavors, spices, textures and varieties are so delicious and different from what I've had at other restaurants in the past, it's really a delight to try different things and experience new foods!!!
Vegetarian options: So many choices, not just 1 or 2.
Kid-friendliness: Staff are friendly to children and relaxed, not worried over noise.
Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of room between tables to keep walker, or for a wheelchair.
Recently found this gem. The food is extremely delicious. We had the Vandaloo, some of the dumplings, a pork appetizer, butter naan, garlic naan and lamb kabobs. Everything was so tasty, substantial portions. I do recommend being cautious with the "spicy" entrees. They might be too spicy for some. We ordered from mild to very spicy and the mild was good if you eat a little spice. Very spicy was delish, but I love the heat, sweating and having my sinus completely cleared. LOL. I highly recommend this hidden gem. Everything is priced very reasonably. The service was spectacular, very attentive and genuine
We even ordered an extra vandaloo to take home. Loved it! We will be returning!
UPDATE: been back twice this week, had more garlic naan, the korma, butter chicken. Everything as usual is delish and the service excellent!
Delicious mo-mo, with perfect thin dough, full of flavor. The hospitality and service here is great!
The Butter Chicken was super. Great authentic place with nice service and a 5 star dining experience for a fraction of the price
The service and staff are very attentive!
Started off our late lunch with Spicy Pork Mo Mo and it was quiet tasty with a good amount of heat. For the main we ordered chicken vindaloo and chicken Tikka with Garlic Naan. This comes with a large side of basmati rice.
Best Indian style food in the area. We will be back!
We ate here this evening on our way home from Florida. What a treat! The atmosphere, service, cleanliness and food was outstanding. We had Chicken Thali, steamed momos, garlic naan, an eggplant dish and Kheer for dessert. I wish we lived closer because this Nepalese restaurant is a gem. The owner came around to see how we liked our dinner also. The portions are generous and we brought some food home! I recommend this restaurant highly!
The food is so delicious. Their chicken biryani is the best I've ever had. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant. A very unique and diverse menu all cooked to perfection.
Couldnāt find a flaw in this place. The food was beyond fantastic. The meat just melts in your mouth and the flavor is amazing. Along with the food comes a very attentive and caring staff. They consistently made sure our table had everything we needed and we were satisfied. I definitely recommend this place!!!!!
OCT 2022 update: my wife and I had an early dinner here today. FANTASTIC!! Food was outstanding, and service was perfect. Canāt say enough about our dinner..thanks to everyone for making our afternoon so enjoyable!!
Five of us ate here earlier this afternoon. Wow. Really good, some of the best Indian / Nepalese food Iāve ever had. Entrees and mains were AWESOME! Definitely worth a visit, and Iām absolutely returning soon!
Visiting from out of town and my sister took us here. I have had some Indian food in the past but I am not super knowledgeable about all the dishes. The servers was so nice and helpful with recommendations and suggestions. Very pleasant personality. I am also a vegetarian but so easy to find many options here. Food was all absolutely delicious. Very reasonable prices and larger portions. I probably could have split an entree with my daughter but at least we had leftovers to take home :). I canāt wait to come back again. Highly recommend.
Vegetarian options: Appetizer mixed veg pakora -I could eat as an entree ! So good.
Paneer masala (similar to a tofu type dish )
Aloo Kauli
Tarka Daal
We loved all of them.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch today! We had a group of 6, and ordered multiple items, all of which tasted great! Our server was very friendly and attentive as well. When you visit, be sure to try the Butter Chicken. The sauce was delicious! Also, the Saag Paneer. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely the best meal weāve had in a very long time. The flavors are incredible and the service is amazing. The staff are some of the most attentive weāve experienced. This will be one of our new regular spots!
Had dinner here last night. They are delicious!!!! The Tikka marsala was perfect tender chicken, the heritage special curry with goat was so good and flavorful. We got everything spicy and the level of spice was great. Defintally check this place out they are new so service is still figuring it out but the food is defintally worth it.
Update: Went back tonight and tried some new dishes I have never had before. The spicy chicken mo-mos where amazing and whatever the sauce is that comes with it I could drink it! Plan to go back and slowly eat our way through the menu, so far everything is AMAZING! You can tell it's cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients!
Great place and just opened in past two months. Owner is great and friendly, to include the servers. You can tell work done inside and out was done with intent of creating a clean and pleasant dining experience. We got the spicy and fried pork momo this evening and it was very tasty. While sipping on mango lassis, we enjoyed the atmosphere and good company. Highly recommended local small business! Save room for dessert!
Most excellent food! Authentic, spiced to your request and very fresh. Service was great and staff was considerate in explaining the different dishes and spices. This is a different region of Indian cooking and you shouldn't let yourself stay away because you aren't sure what everything is. And the mo-mos are a must!
